Dining room fit

Will the dining table and chairs fit?

Compare a measured rectangular table and chair layout with your room. The planner separates the physical table-and-chair envelope from any extra walking space you choose.

Example setup. Room, table, chair and circulation values are editable examples. Replace them with your own measured furniture and selected movement space.

1. Table dimensions

Rectangular tables only in this first version. Use the table's outer edge-to-edge dimensions.

2. Dining space

3. Seating and circulation options

Enter widths in mm, cm, m, inches or feet. Chair and circulation values are your measurements and choices, not general standards.

Assumptions

  • Example values are illustrative placeholders, not recommended dining dimensions or a standard table/chair size.
  • The hard footprint treats each chair envelope as a measured rectangle outside the table edge. It does not model chair angles, table legs, pedestal bases, chair overlap, or mixed chair sizes.
  • The extra walking target is user-selected space beyond the pulled-out chair envelope; it is not a sourced or universal aisle minimum.
  • Seat-width rows compare measured outside chair width with the table edge length. They do not decide comfortable seats per person or account for place settings.

This first version models rectangular tables and identical chair envelopes only. It does not model round/oval tables, table bases, chair rotation, people passing, doors, sideboards, obstacles, accessibility or serving space. The extra circulation target is user-selected, not a sourced minimum or building-code requirement. Replace every example value with measurements from your room and furniture.
